£6k ticket for Klopp title party

-

on May 12 in the hope Jurgen Klopp’s stars end a 29-year wait for their first Premier League crown.

Madrid-based Spanish ticket website livefootballtickets.com is offering a pair of tickets for the Wolves game in the Longside Lower KK section at a mind-boggling £11,900 plus fees – without any hospitality.

Another Spanish site Tickets4football.com is advertising a pair of tickets at £4,044, including postage.

They are actually priced at £3,308, but a booking fee and tax of £736 increases the price.

It’s a scenario replicated on many secondary ticket sites in Europe as well as the USA and Asia, where Liverpool have huge followings. Liverpool’s previous home games on the run-in against Chelsea and Huddersfield are also offered for hefty money.

A pair in the Kop against Huddersfield are on sale for just over £2,000, while fans can buy a single guaranteed seat against Chelsea for £1,170.

Liverpool have no control over secondary sites selling tickets for their games, but they could take action if fans are caught selling on their own season tickets.

An industry insider said: “Liverpool v Wolves is the big ticket in football because fans want to be there, especially if Liverpool are going for the title on the last day.

“Fans from overseas are willing to pay anything to be there if history is being made. Those enquiring have the money – and are willing to spend it to be at an iconic occasion.

“There’s a huge market for tickets for the last three games of the season at Anfield, with the Wolves match the one everyone wants.

“Of course, it’s a gamble, but that’s the game.

“People are splashing out now because, if Liverpool do stay the course, they’ll be even more expensive with a month to go.”
