Nurse & son back on picket line after 20yrs

- BY LIZ FARSACI

A NURSE who posted a photo of herself on a picket line with her son in 1999 did it again this week and said nothing has changed.

Colette Vize, 53, was a staff nurse at Louth County Hospital when she and Oisin, now 20, stood with colleagues.

On Wednesday the mum of three, now a ward sister, was again outside the site with her co-workers describing the experience as “the worst kind of deja vu”.

She added: “We were fighting for safety of nurses, safety of services, safety of the patients. Here we are again fighting for the same thing.”

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation last night announced staff will strike on Tuesday and Thursday this week as well as February 12, 13, 14, 19 and 21.
