Cars swept away in Oz
FIERCE floods swept through Australia after heavy monsoon rains fell over the north-east state of Queensland.
Cars and livestock were carried away in the coastal city of Townsville and people were evacuated.
Queensland head of government Annastacia Palaszczuk said: “We have not been in this situation before.
“There has been a lot of rain falling over the Townsville catchment and the levels are unprecedented.”
