Cops said it was not over drugs

Mum’s heartache as body found by Spanish roadside is her missing son

- BY GERARD COUZENS

Australia, had no money and was getting paid. The Spanish police have told me his death has nothing to do with drugs.

“I want answers, who did this to my son and why they did it, but I also want to set the record straight.”

The body was found buried by the AP-7 motorway between Benijofar and Algorfa, a 20-minute drive north from where the Irishman was last seen.

He is believed to have been at a dance event called Ambiguous in the Costa Blanca resort of Cabo Roig.

Carr’s British girlfriend Danielle Coupe had appealed for information in a social media post shortly after his disappearance.

A secrecy order preventing officials from making comment is understood to have been placed over the case.

Mrs Carr said: “His favourite saying was he was lover not a fighter.

“He was very funny and very well-liked but too easily led to be honest. He wanted to please people all of the time.”

She admitted she suspected the ones “who did this tried to make it seem as if it was something to do with drugs”.

She added: “He didn’t have any money, he was working in bars and doing odd jobs but he certainly wasn’t a drugs baron.

“Whoever did this to my son must pay the consequences.” Carr’s girlfriend Danielle Coupe made social media appeal
