Stephen added: “That’s how it works in Red Rock, one gangster goes and the next one comes in.
“She thinks I’m indebted to her. She doesn’t know how Eugene died, just we were close, and if I was working for him I was technically working for her.
“Keith is out of his depth. We see lovely glimpses of him as he tries to get away from it all but he is not allowed.
“He wants to go straight and look after his friend Alice but then he gets an offer from Jackie to do some drug running which he does not really want to do.
“But his mother Bridget convinces him to do it because she likes the idea of him being a big drug lord.”
Stephen said it was great to see his character evolve since Red Rock began in 2015, but admitted he wouldn’t want to know him in real life.
He added: “I love playing Keith. I like him but I wouldn’t hang around with him because if you said one wrong thing you might get a bottle in the face.”
Red Rock is on Virgin Media One tomorrow at 9pm.
