Bellfield may own up after mother dies

- BY ANDY GARDNER

EVIL serial killer Levi Bellfield may finally admit his monstrous crimes because his mum has died.

The police officer who snared him said Jean Bellfield, who died aged 81 in 2017, had a “huge hold” over the murderer.

Retired detective chief inspector Colin Sutton said: “While she was alive, Bellfield would never admit to anything. He would do everything to conceal his crimes.

“With his mum gone, he may decide to exploit his notoriety to prove to the world how prolific he was.”

Bellfield, 50, who grew up in London, will die in jail for the murders of Milly Dowler, 13, Marsha Mcdonnell, 19 and Amélie Delagrange, 22. He is suspected of other killings.
