February 14? Now it’s just another date
COUPLES are falling out of love with Valentine’s Day, research shows.
An overwhelming 90 per cent of people in relationships think the day is now far too commercialised.
And 86 per cent would rather have a cosy night in than go out for a meal or some other kind of date.
Another 62 per cent would rather treat or surprise their loved one at a different time of the year.
Studies by Virgin Experience Days and florists Bloom & Wild found over half of people in relationships have spent less than €10 to mark February 14.
