Ace Becks to be honoured by US statue
David Beckham DAVID Beckham is to become the first player in US soccer history to be recognised with a statue, it emerged yesterday.
The former England and Manchester United idol will be honoured outside the stadium of LA Galaxy, the club where he played from 2007 to 2012.
Becks, 43, helped LA Galaxy win back-to-back Major League Soccer cups. He left the club to acclaim despite being criticised by some fans for loan moves to AC Milan.
The statue will be unveiled at Dignity Health Sports Park before LA Galaxy’s first game of the new season against Chicago Fire on March 2.
Becks is the co-owner of MLS expansion club Inter Miami, which is set to join the league next year. Syria clashes
