I just can’t find a leading man in Hollywood ..they’re not Irish enough

Top model’s luckless hunt for love in the city of angels

- BY SHARON MCGOWAN

Model Shahira Honest Shahira says she can’t find love The 27-year-old, from Co Galway, who has been a Playboy mansion regular and a body double for Kim Kardashian since moving Stateside, added while she loves life in California, she still misses the Irish charm. After four years of living in LA, Shahira revealed she’s staying away from men in the city “because they’re players”. She told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “Dating is impossible in LA. That’s the one thing, Irish guys are much better than LA guys. It’s funny, when I moved I thought, ‘I’m going to find myself a nice Californian guy with a six pack at the beach’. “But to be honest, they’re mostly all players over here – especially the ones I meet because they’re in the entertainment industry. “I do a lot of music videos, I meet a lot of rappers and that would be my type but they’re all players and it’s very difficult to date anyone seriously. “But I’m focused and busy. I don’t need no man.” Instead of focusing on looking for love, Shahira has her sights set on being an entrepreneur as she launches online fashion website Prettyboutique. com later this month. The part-bangladeshi model said her decision to quit boozing last November gave her the extra motivation to launch her new website. She added: “To be honest I’ve always had the idea. I’ve had a blog since 2010 and I built a big following on it. “I had a lot of brands writing to me asking if they could send me clothes and stuff. “Even now they still do, but it was before Instagram and influencers were a thing. “The idea came to me then. I thought, ‘Why don’t I just take the middleman out of it and promote my own clothes rather than these big companies?’ “I’ve always loved fashion and being in LA, I feel like my style has grown even more and I take even bigger risks.” news@irishmirror.ie
