How bridesmaid dresses got chic & versatile

-

BRIDESMAID dresses have a bad reputation but the days of ruffles, sequins and loads of bows are well and truly over. Bright-pink satin tents have been replaced with chic alternatives that can be worn on more than one big occasion.

Dressing bridesmaids for the big day has become easier than ever with all the great options on the high street – and it doesn’t have to blow the wedding budget.

We’ve rounded up our favourites and the best bit is they all come in under €100.

One of the biggest trends this year is the halterneck style. Its popularity stems from Meghan Markle and that incredible Stella Mccartney dress she wore to her reception last year. Not only did it look incredible on her, it’s also a very flattering style on most figures.

We love Zara’s pink midi dresses (€49.95),

perfect for those who are shunning traditional nuptials.

Feeling brave? Floral bridesmaid dresses are fantastic for adding colour. Check out Boohoo’s off-theshoulder maxi, a steal at just €26.

For sparkle that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, look to ASOS’ bridesmaid dresses and evening gowns such as the TFNC embellished back dress (€38.71).

We love Topshop’s green lace insert dress (€89) which reminds us of Keira Knightley’s jaw-dropping fashion moment in Atonement.

Meanwhile, timeless luxe navy blue, mink and pale pink are safe bets and allow a lot of creativity for the rest of the ceremony. And Little Mistress’ one-shoulder maxi dress (€62) won’t look out of date in wedding photos in years

to come.
