Meeting the love of her life Bryan Murray on set has been the biggest blessing she’s had.

Both actors were already married when they met in 2005.

In the soap, her character Renee went on to have an affair with Bryan’s character Bob Charles, the husband of her old friend Emer. Una added: “Our relationsh­ip started on Fair City, he came in as somebody else’s husband, we had an affair on Fair City but as far as we were concerned in real life it started off as a friendship.

“Maybe a year later we discovered there was something else here, so it was lovely and we’re still having a great time.

“I found I could talk to him, he said the same about me, we have never stopped talking and we’re just back from a trip to India to celebrate Bryan’s 70th birthday.

“I love playing opposite him in Fair City and I love having rows with him on the show.

“People do a double take when they see us now in the supermarke­t together but we love when they talk to us about the show.” When the pair have time away from the soap, they love acting together on stage.

Una said: “We’re in the Viking Theatre in Clontarf, Dublin, now for two weeks in a play, Halcyon And Dave by Deirdre Kinahan. It’s about two auld gits in a nursing home, it’s really funny and poignant and sad.”

The couple’s relationsh­ip started off slowly as Una was in the process of ending her marriage. She added:
