Z-listers need reality check

-

Try Star unders category. Seriously, does anyone even care anymore? The worrying thing is the contestant list reads like pretty much any reality talent show these days – from Dancing On Ice to Strictly Come Dancing to Celebrity First Dates. It’s like an endless barrelscraping exercise on an incestuous pit of non-talent. The GC, who started her TV career as Gemma Collins on The Only Way Is Essex, has to date appeared on I’m A Celeb, Dancing on Ice, Celebrity Big Brother and her own reality show Gemma Collins: Diva Forever. Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing has an equally impressive CV of telly appearances under his belt. Despite being heir to a small fortune he’s been on First Dates, Famous And Fighting Crime, Celebrity Hunted, and Famous, Rich And Stanley Johnson Nate and Moira Hungry for Sport Relief.

The biscuit tycoon has also clocked up cameo roles in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie and Bored Of The Rings: The Trilogy.

Of course the daddy of them all is the father of British PM Boris Johnson who has managed to carve a retirement career out of being charming and silly on screen.

Author and former politician Stanley Johnson, 79, first burst into our living rooms on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

The senior citizen gained a new legion of fans in the process and formed a firm friendship with Queen Of The Jungle Georgia Toffolo.

More recently the pair appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox and are set for a telly reunion this week on Channel 4’s Celebrity Hunted For Stand Up To Cancer.

Self-deprecating Stanley has also appeared on the BBC reality show The Real Marigold Hotel getting to grips with retirement in India.

He starred alongside celebs who are better known for having a proper job than appearing on reality TV, including Selina Scott, Paul Nicholas and Stephanie Beecham.
