DANIEL I feared my Majella was going to die

charts this week. He said: “It’s a collection of songs from the 50s and 60s, all songs that I love myself.
“We’ve had people coming to the show who may not have been at it before so the record company over the last wee while have put out compilations of different albums and this is one of them it may not have been available before.”
Daniel has a large group of friends in showbiz circles including Cliff Richard who he met in the 80s and he stood by him when the star was falsely accused of sexual abuse in 2014.
Now the veteran singer is in good spirits, Daniel said: “I was only talking to him last week on his 79th birthday and we’ve arranged to see him in March.”
With a tour planned for next year, the plan is for Daniel to slow down as he gets older.
He said: “I decided for the next few years that’s what I’m going to do.”
Being a step-grandad to Majella’s two grandchildren is no different he says to having his own grandchildren, he added: “They just see me as Gaga, the wee boy is four and the wee girl is two in January.”
CHILDREN
Admitting he has no regrets that he didn’t have children of his own Daniel revealed: “I’ve been very fortunate in the life that I’ve had and this was to be the way my life was meant to be.
“Majella’s children have brought so much joy to me and now our grandchildren too and I have my own nieces and nephews, I’ve always had them in my life growing up.
“I’ve always been surrounded by children, I don’t ever think I’ve lost out not having my own children.
“I think it’s important to make the best of what you have and not worry about what you don’t have because it was always the way it was meant to be.”
With no plans to bring back the Daniel & Majella’s B&B TV series there is one TV cameo he wouldn’t refuse, adding: “I’ve always loved Coronation Street but to appear in it is only a pipe dream.”
And what about the secret to a happy marriage?
Daniel said: “We get on New release very well together, we can be
together all the time and never too long together but we survive well apart.”
