Talk TV ...get me a translator! Nadine’s lilt may dumbfound viewers

-

For the first time in the show’s history, stars may not be allowed to have camp fires as bush blazes raging nearby have led to a total ban across New South Wales.

This might scupper producers’ hopes of heated rows at dinner time with the celebs unable to cook, boil water or warm themselves.

Then there are the contestants and their little, er, issues, such as football legend Ian Wright, 56, and his asthma.

His mum Nesta, 90, is worried that squeezing into tight spaces during gruelling Bushtucker Trials might bring on an attack for her claustrophobic son.

However, there’s an even bigger problem that producers are facing which is whether Derry-born Nadine Coyle’s accent will require subtitles.

If they’re hoping she’ll spill the beans on her former Girls Aloud bandmates, they had better consider some help for viewers to understand her.

Nadine recently featured on an episode of Virgin Media’s Living With Lucy and one sentence proved so cryptic for audiences that a video of it went viral.

In her promo for the jungle, Nadine twangs: “I have no survival skills whatsoever as far as I know.

“The worst thing that could hay-pen in the jungle is…death.”

She continues: “I am Nadine Coyle and I am bay-st known as

Ant & Dec are in the (very) hot seat being a singer in Girls Aloud. I want ty come across as meself, but I want to be a brave version of meself.”

Nadine reveals she’s scared of insects, and “snakes, I’ve only seen in pay-t shops”.

She adds: “There’s two versions of me – when you’re hungry angry, there’s one where you’re raging; you’re just ripping at the slightest thing.

“And then there’s the other one when you’re just really starving.

“I don’t know which version is going to come out.”

As well as former Arsenal striker Wright, Nadine will join former US reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner and Irish funnyman Andrew Maxwell.

The stand-up comedian has himself been known to lay on the Dublin accent with a trowel – so we could be in for a very interesting night of misunderstandings. I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here begins on Virgin Media One tonight at 9pm.

Carla Connor (Alison King) may have one of the shrillest voices on the Cobbles but it masks a true heart of gold. The Coronation Street favourite is clearly a very good woman to have in your corner during tough times as she demonstrated this week when she went to bat for her good pal Roy Cropper. Loyal Carla was by his side as he came face-to-face with his half-brother and had his back during a tense stand-off. Her loyalty will again be tested in coming weeks as pal Michelle (Kym Marsh) is rocked by Robert’s betrayal.

Carla, top right, Nina and Roy pay Richard a visit
