We still have some hope Trevor’s alive
Heartbroken brother’s plea for help 19yrs after disappearance
Mark Deely and family continue to search mind there is some hope he could still walk in the door some day.”
A cold case review into Trevor’s disappearance concluded in mid-2018 without producing any new leads.
The probe involved a team of six detectives re-interviewing dozens of people as well as reviewing old case files.
Enhanced CCTV footage showing Trevor speaking to an unidentified male at the Bank of Ireland was also released but it failed to yield fresh information.
Separately, a 12-acre site in Chapelizod, West Dublin, was excavated in a search for remains on foot of a tip-off received by gardai. Mark said: “The dig was huge and it was very hard because there was no new information.
“We were fearful of a body, fearful they were going to find Trevor. It was a huge operation but it was based on a believable story so gardai had to follow through on it.
“Now there are no stories.
“We’re worried maybe the general public think something happened behind the scenes or that we know what happened.
“We are still in the dark. Somebody knows something, that is the frustrating thing.
“Our only way we will ever find out what happened to Trevor is through the public so we continue to ask in the hope someone will eventually tell us something.”
Trevor’s anguished family will light a candle for him at a ceremony to mark National Missing Persons Day this Wednesday.
Admitting Christmas would be tough, Mark added: “Time freezes, even though we all have our own families, our kids are grown up now.
“Trevor is not hidden within our family. He was a normal young fella and we would dearly love to know what happened to him.”
There is a reward for information and gardai have urged people to contact Crimestoppers on 1800-250025.
