COUPLE COULD

-

Beaming Meghan matched his scarlet jacket in a red caped gown, looking relaxed as the couple prepare to start their new life in North America.

They are said to be looking to set up a permanent base in either in Toronto, where the American former actress lived before royal life, or the millionaires’ playground of Montecito in California.

The celebrity hotspot is home to chat show queen Oprah Winfrey – a guest at the couple’s wedding in 2018 – and TV host Ellen Degeneres, another friend of the Sussexes.

Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland also lives nearby in Los Angeles.

Harry, 35, was in uniform last night in his role as Captain General of the Royal Marines, a title he will give up along with the rest when he steps back from royal duties on March 31.

Once stripped of his Armed Forces appointments he will be barred from wearing the uniform – and he is expected to wear a civilian suit at his final engagement tomorrow.

After that the couple are expected to return to Canada early next week to be reunited with 10-month-old son Archie, who is currently in the care of a nanny at the family’s rented home on Vancouver Island.

On Friday she placed images in a London newspaper and on Instagram of her at the National Theatre when the Duchess of Cornwall was continuing her vital campaign on domestic violence.

It came after she publicised a visit to the Mayhew animal charity last month, the day Prince Charles made a keynote speech on climate change in front of world leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. A Palace source said: “To say there’s been a degree of tension would be an understatement.”

But last night Meghan looked glowingly happy in a €1,500 red gown by London-based label Safiyaa, with a matching €1,500 clutch bag by Manolo Blahnik and long red crystal earrings by Simone Rocha.

She and Harry seemed relaxed as they met current and former servicemen and women at the Royal Albert Hall for the Mountbatten Festival of Music, raising money for the Royal Marines Charity and children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent. A royal source said: “The military is very important to both the Duke and the Duchess. His connection with the Armed Forces is something he cherishes while the
