Robins hands it to Godd

-

MARK ROBINS called on Coventry to keep their focus for the League One run-in after they moved five points clear at the top.

Matt Godden scored the only goal of the game (above) as the visitors extended their unbeaten run to 14 games.

Boss Robins said: “We started brilliantly. We kept the ball well and the goal was magnificent with the way they got through, the way they passed it, a great throughball from Liam Walsh.

“It was a really tough game, but thankfully we can get home and give them a bit of a breather going into next week.

“We have got 10 games left and we need to be better than that.

“Can we keep our focus and keep learning? Nobody’s cracked it yet, so we have got to keep focused and keep going.”

Godden finished calmly after Fankaty Dabo and Walsh combined to set him up in the 16th minute.

Jon Nolan, who had an early penalty appeal waved away, had the ebst chance for Ipswich, who suffered a fourth straight loss.

The Tractor Boys have now dropped to 10th, seven points outside the play-off placess, and manager Paul Lambert said: “I know it’s hard but we have to go for absolutely everything.

“I will never give up and hopefully we can go on a run and get our players back and look a better, stronger team. “Considering the lads we’ve got – we have got two kids, Armando Dobre and Tyreece Simpson, on the bench coming on – there’s a lot of things to be proud of. “Without Flynn Downes, arguably one of the best midfielders in the division, and with three of our strikers missing, there are a lot of big players out.”
