A witness claimed the mum of one “screamed like a banshee” at society blogger Matthew Steeples over his remarks about ex-formula One F1 tycoon Bernie, 90.
A source who witnessed the bust-up at Granger and Co in London’s Chelsea, said: “It was an ugly scene, everyone was looking. Police turned up, then Tamara and Matthew left.”
Tempers flared after 35-year-old Tamara hosted a mums’ brunch at Granger, where options include €15 Ricotta hotcakes with honeycomb butter.
Steeples told the Sunday Mirror the episode “was embarrassing” and said Tamara had looked like Corrie legend Bet Lynch in a leopard skin print top.
He added: “A load of people carriers turned up outside and her bodyguards were there.
“She said that I was a disgusting person slagging off her dad Bernie. One of the managers came out and said ‘Miss Ecclestone, calm yourself down’.
“I called the police and they were there within three minutes.
“I think one of the cops was a bit starstruck when they saw Tamara.” Last night Tamara’s spokesman denied any wrongdoing and insisted she would continue visiting the eaterie with family and friends.
He added: “Following years of upsetting comments which has caused Tamara and her family a great deal of distress, Tamara calmly used the sighting of Matthew Steeples to offer him an opportunity to repeat his keyboard abuse to her face.
“He did not wish to do so and so Tamara calmly walked away.”
He claimed: “The whole incident was essentially a waste of police time.
“Tamara was not even questioned by the police.” The Met Police said: “Police were called at 10:45hrs on March 5 following a verbal dispute.
“No offences apparent; no further police action in relation to this incident.”
