TERROR AS FEUD BOSS HOME

Gardai fear bloodshed after psycho returns to town

- BY EMMA MCMENAMY

THE gang boss who fled the country after the “Narcos” murder of Keane Mulready-woods is back home.

And Gardai fear the violent Drogheda drugs feud could escalate following his return to the town.

The thug fled to Spain with his brother after the killing and dismemberment of 17-year-old Mulready-woods in January.

Hitman Robbie Lawlor, 35, a suspect in the gruesome murder, was shot dead in North Belfast in April. A source said: “This is not a good development and it’s

not a good time but the only good thing is that the gangs don’t have the resources they had before.”

The Irish Sunday Mirror can reveal the gang boss has been seen in Drogheda with a minder.

It has also emerged that both gangs are almost “broke” after a series of huge drug busts – the latest coming last Monday when gardai seized €1.1million worth of cocaine and €550,000 in cash.

But with both sides strapped for cash it is feared they will be desperate to control the drugs trade in the North East.

A source said: “It’s been quite for a while but that’s happened before and look what happened after it.”

There are questions being asked about how the boss – dubbed Houdini as he dodged bids to assassinate him – can get out of Spain with strict travel restrictions.

The killer, in his 20s, fled the town following the murder of Mulready-woods – who was lured to his death in a house in Rathmullen, Drogheda, on January 12.

His body was dismembered and the body parts were found in two locations in Dublin in what is believed to have been a warning to rival criminals.

Sources said the gang boss fled the country afterwards fearing he would again be targeted by a rival gang. Hitman Lawlor was gunned down after travelling from the South to collect a drug debt.

An assassin had lain in wait in a house in the Ardoyne, North Belfast, last month.
