YAX MARKS THE SPOT FOR LYONS

Keane mount ready to blow hot despite 309 day absence

- BY RYAN MCELLIGOTT

Her lack of experience is a concern and she also has a 309 day absence from the track to overcome. However, she looks a filly of potential and it is worth taking the chance that she can make a winning return to the fray. Her biggest danger might come from Amma Grace who won a mile maiden at this track last October. This Galileo filly appeals as one that should hold her own in good company this year and expect her to be closely involved. Lyons and Keane might also land the mile and a quarter colts maiden with

Lough Cutra.

He has shown up well on both his starts with his third to the Royal Ascot hero Russian Emperor at Naas in March a strong piece of form.

A repeat of either of his first two runs should be sufficient for this colt to take care of Paradiso who ran a respectable fifth in a Naas maiden last week.

Elsewhere on the card the promising Patrick Sarsfield is hard to oppose in the concluding nine furlong handicap.

This gelding showed smart form at two and in a two race campaign last year he was a very easy winner of a Curragh maiden.

The other handicaps look tricky but in the 45-65 rated contest it may be worth siding with Landing Zone.

He could only manage seventh here last week but he ran better than his final position and he is entitled to come on for that run.

The first of the days handicaps is a tricky looking seven furlong affair where Stormy Belle is put forward.

She finished down the field at Gowran last week but got no run whatsoever and with a clearer passage she may have given a good account of herself.

In the ten furlong fillies maiden Epona Plays is the selection. She looks good enough at this level.
