PERFECT TIME TO SPRINKLE A LITTLE MAGIC

-

THE brilliant Magical can make a winning return in the Group 1 Alwasmiyah Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh this afternoon.

Aidan O’brien’s star mare could be vulnerable on her first start since October but her form is by far the strongest in this five runner line up.

Last season she looked better than ever when completing the Irish and English Champion Stakes double and if she performs to anything like that level she should win.

She might have most to fear from her consistent stablemate Fleeting who has run many fine races at highest level over the last 13 months.

Elsewhere on the card Make A Challenge is hard to look past in the Group 2 Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes.

He was impressive on his return to action at Naas last weekend and his best form leaves him with very little to find.

Possibly five furlongs is his best trip these days but he can still see off the reliable Speak In Colours.

In the Rockingham Handicap Alligator Alley can strike for Joseph O’brien following a pleasing comeback second in a Naas Listed race earlier in the month.

Three-year-olds don’t have a particularly good record in this race but this doesn’t look a strong renewal and Alligator Alley stands out on his two-year-old form.

Elsewhere Napa Valley is put forward to land the conditions race while the Champion Hurdle second Sharjah can make a winning return in the concluding two mile handicap.
