MATTY A UDINESE BARGAIN
NEWCASTLE midfielder Matty Longstaff remains destined for a move to Udinese this summer.
Toon boss Steve Bruce has hinted the Magpies have made their final offer to tempt Longstaff to commit his future to Tyneside.
But sources say the 20-year-old is planning to head for Italy, with Udinese only having to pay compensation of about £400,000.
Longstaff agreed a contract extension with Newcastle to the end of the season, but has been offered £30,000-a-week in Italy.
Bruce described Newcastle’s offer, said to be £20,000 a week plus future bonuses, as “wonderful’’. But if the proposed £300million Saudi-backed takeover of Toon goes through, the new regime may match Udinese’s terms in a bid to keep Longstaff.
