YES, I CAN BE EMIRATES KLOPP’

- BY TOM HOPKINSON

MIKEL ARTETA has hailed Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool for laying out the blueprint on the kind of rebuilding job he wants to do at Arsenal.

But the Gunners boss knows it won’t be as simple as a cut-and-paste of the ways Klopp (right) has built success at Anfield.

“Liverpool is a great example to see that it is possible,” said Arteta. “But it takes a lot of work and a lot of the right decisions from everyone.

“First of all, you need belief in what you are doing and then see that you are all aligned in that belief.

“You need a coach who identifies the philosophy that is needed, who the fans believe in, and then players who are 100 per cent committed to that manager, to that football club, to give their best ALL the time, it does not matter what.

“Then, what type of personality are you signing? Does he fit your club culture?

“After that, quality-wise, positions, what is needed?

“Slowly you start to catch up and start to get better. The table shows how far away we are right now.

“But when you start to make improvements and generate belief, and have the fans and history we have, you can do anything. I have a strong belief in that.”
