Toon in for a Pep poser

-

WHO’S still up for the Cup? It’s very hard to say.

When the Third Round began back in January the games kicked off a minute late so we could all have a short hard think about mental health.

And now here are the quarter-finals, three months overdue, with a reminder that life happens while we’re busy making other plans.

As Manchester City head to Newcastle (BBC1, 6.30pm) the key punting question is who’s planning to turn up?

Pep Guardiola (above) has big things to ponder. They’re all in Lisbon in August, starting just six days after the Cup Final.

City are a brilliant side, bursting with sublime talent. And they’ve lost EIGHT times in the Prem this season. They leaked three goals at Norwich.

Some ordinary teams have laid a glove or two on them. Punt ‘Newcastle to score’ at 10/11 (Hills) – something fun to cheer on for our telly jollies.

And talking frolics, I’ve seen worse than the 22/1 (Skybet) it goes to pens.
