NIKA: ONE BIG PUSH & THE TITLE IS OURS

-

Aberdeen Rangers

Today, 3pm NIKICA JELAVIC says if Rangers do a Pittodrie double today for the first time in a decade they’ll have one hand on the title.

The Ibrox icon scored Gers’ winner against Aberdeen in 2011 – the last time they picked up two away wins over the Dons in a season – with a stunning overhead kick.

And he’s convinced that if Steven Gerrard’s men collect another three points in the Granite City this afternoon, it will go a long way to winning the Scottish Premiership.

After last weekend’s Old Firm victory against Celtic, Rangers can go a massive 22 points clear at the top with the Hoops playing Hibs on Monday night. And former Croatia star Jelavic (below) believes it could be another pivotal moment in the title race.

He said: “If we beat Aberdeen, Rangers will be close to that first title in 10 years, which is incredible.

“It’s such an important game. It doesn’t matter that we are 19 points ahead in the table. We have to take every game seriously until this title is secured. Hopefully we can win on Sunday and put one hand on the trophy. In these games against Aberdeen, the players shouldn’t need any special motivation.

“Historically for Rangers it’s always difficult going to Aberdeen. They make it hard for you and we all know about the rivalry between the two clubs.

“But it was amazing to play those types of games.

“Beacuse you know it’s going to be tough, you know you have to prepare properly and give 100 per cent to win.

“And you know if you beat them there it will be a fantastic feeling.”
