The I’m A Celebrity fave is top of the list to appear in the reboot of the hit show, sources say.

Bosses are thought to want to make it as diverse as possible after the old series and films were criticised for not being inclusive.

They believe transgender icon Caitlyn, 71, would be perfect for a role.

An insider says: “Caitlyn has been a media fixture in one way or another for going on 50 years. She’s really perfect for an appearance. They want new faces for the show, but they want people viewers actually know and care about too.”

This week, it was announced that a

Sex and the City revival was heading to the small screen more than 20 years after the series made its debut.

The original HBO show followed the lives of four New York women negotiating work and relationships in the late 90s and early 2000s.

But only three of the fab four are returning for the new series – Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. Kim Cattrall, who played man-eater Samantha, will not feature. Many people have said that the classic show will have to update its race and sexual politics after its second movie was deemed offensive to Muslims. Sources say bosses are determined to make it a little more connected to the real world. The timing works for Caitlyn because she’s been dipping her toe into acting. She recently landed her first acting gig since transitioning in 2017, starring in Duke of the Valley – a sitcom based on the memoirs of late actor Dick Van Patten. Caitlyn, who won the decathlon gold medal at the 1976 Olympics, was married to Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner – mother of reality stars Kim, Khloe and Kourtney. Caitlyn and Kris have two daughters – model Kendall and entrepreneur Kylie.
