Rage at Tin pot referee
RED CARD RILES CHERRIES BOSS
JASON TINDALL slammed the “outrageous decision” to red card Jefferson Lerma that condemned his Bouremouth team to defeat.
The Colombian was involved in the 26thminute clash which left Hatters defender Tom Lockyer with a cut to his face after connecting with his elbow.
Hatters manager Nathan Jones confirmed afterwards that the Welshman was suffering with concussion.
But Bournemouth boss Tindall pointed the finger at ref David Webb for the controversial gamechanging call and he said: “It was a pivotal moment.
“Jeff ’s gone up for a header, one of their lads has knocked him off balance and he caught him with his trailing arm.
“When a decision is that blatantly wrong, you can’t help but be angry and even at half-time the lads couldn’t believe the decision.
“We’ve been very lucky to have seen officiating in the Premier League for five years because there’s a huge gulf.”
It was a further blow to the Cherries’ promotion hopes.
Tindall added: “Even down to 10 men I thought we were the better side. I thought the lads adapted really well and couldn’t have given me any more. ”
Kiernan Dewsbury-hall scored the only goal when he finished crisply into the far corner midway through the second half to give Jones’ side their third win in four games.
“They are a fantastic side at this level,” said Jones.
“They’ve been recruiting for the Premier League so we knew we’d have to really do well to get something here. It was a wonderful, wonderful win.
“To get four points from Bournemouth this season, however you get it, is brilliant.”
Asmir Begovic made three brilliant saves at the start of the second half to keep Bournemouth level.
First the keeper threw out an arm to deny Glen Rea, then he pulled off a stunning double save from Luke Berry’s close-range effort and Dewsbury-hall from the follow-up.
Bournemouth still had moments and Dominic Solanke’s goal-bound shot was flicked round the post by Dan Potts’ challenge.
But the key moment came when Harry Cornick teed up Dewsbury-hall to fire home.
