Jab, and my pup, sorted my long Covid

A LONG Covid sufferer has revealed how her symptoms miraculously disappeared after getting the vaccine.

Tara Richardson, 45, who lives in London but whose parents are from Dublin, said she had been suffering with severe headaches, fatigue, and a slight loss of smell for close to a year before receiving the jab two weeks ago.

The top music manager, who has worked with Snow Patrol and currently looks after Irish act Murder Capital, said within hours of getting the Astrazeneca vaccine she was back to her old self.

Speaking to the Irish Sunday Mirror, Tara told how she first realised her long Covid was gone when her new puppy jumped up on the bed and she could smell he needed a bath.

She said: “Two weeks ago I got my text to go and get my Covid jab.

“I felt a bit rubbish a few hours after I got it.

UNBEARABLE

“The next morning though my puppy came into my room and jumped up onto my bed and I was like, ‘Oh my he stinks’ and then I realised I could smell properly again.

“I didn’t lose my sense of smell with Covid, I could still smell, but just not properly. It’s now back to normal.

“As the day went on, I also realised I hadn’t got any aches or pains either.

“My long Covid since the jab hasn’t returned.”

The mother of two recalled how she first was admitted to hospital after a tour in Europe in late 2019.

Tara said: “They said at the time it was just a virus and there was nothing they could do about it.

“On March 15 I got it again and had a banging headache, was aching all over and had extreme fatigue, I just couldn’t move.

“I thought it was jet lag but it turned out to be Covid again.

“I read this thing about long Covid in August and I was just like, ‘that’s me’.

“I couldn’t do anything. By the time it got to 2pm I couldn’t move off the sofa and the body aches were unbearable.”
