New Terriers boss wants to see Moore of the same

-

NEW boss Darren Moore wants to do his old mentor Neil Warnock proud after replacing him as manager of Huddersfield.

Veteran Warnock, who spearheaded the Terriers’ great Championship escape last season, was replaced five days ago.

And Moore, sacked by Sheffield Wednesday this summer after getting them promoted back to the Championship, takes his first game in charge at

Coventry tomorrow night. “I played for Neil at Torquay,” said the former defender.

“What he’s done here is magnificent. If I can do half of what he’s done over my career then I’m on the right track.

“He’s done an incredible job in football and I’m energised to be taking it on from him. I wish him all the best.”

Moore has inherited a side which has picked up seven points from the last nine available.

And they head to the CBS Arena full of confidence against Mark Robins’ off-colour outfit, who have won just once all season.

Moore added: “I like what I see here. For me, you’re far better off coming in expecting to see a confident group of players with the right mindset and mentality who want to work and have a spring in their step from recent results.

“I want to get to understand them as men. With me the man comes first before the player.”

The Sky Blues are desperate to pick up a first win in six and spoil Moore’s incoming party.

Defender Luis Binks, a summer loan signing from Bologna, said: “We’re only seven games into the Championship. They had a slow start last year as well and they went on to make the play-off final.

“Hopefully we can repeat that and go one further.”
