Bryan mighty as Lions roar back to rescue point at Den

-

MILLWALL boss Gary Rowett and Hull manager Liam Rosenior clashed at the final whistle in a row over time-wasting.

The Lions scored first through Duncan Watmore, and after Jaden Philogene and Adama Traore turned things round it was Joe Bryan who levelled.

Rosenior said: “Gary thought I was time-wasting in the last minute but I wanted to win, too. I told him to shut up. It’s a passionate sport but if you can’t handle that you’re in the wrong job.

Rowett said: “I wasn’t overly happy when Liam told me to shut up about four times. It felt like timewasting. We had to change it at half-time as their goals were sloppy from our side and lacked concentration.

“I was pleased with the response after the break.”

Millwall broke through in the eighth minute when Bryan hoisted a free-kick into the area and Watmore drove in off goalkeeper Ryan Allsop.

Hull levelled in the 25th minute. Sean Mcloughlin sent Jaden Philogene clear and the £5million England Under-21s recruit from Aston Villa buried the chance. A poor Danny Mcnamara header then put his team in trouble, allowing Philogene to race away again.

He picked out Traore who rammed the ball into the net from eight yards.

But the Lions were level in the 54th minute when Bryan found the far corner.
