No Enz in sight to Foxes’ hot streak

-

ENZO MARESCA hailed Leicester’s mentality after they came from behind to win in South Wales.

Michael Duff’s side took the lead on 20 minutes through Matt Grimes’ stunning volley but Jannik Vestergaard equalised before half-time.

And second-half goals from Abdul Fatawu and Kelechi Iheanacho saw the Foxes clinch all three points as they became the first second-tier side in history to win their opening six away league matches of a campaign.

“I’m very happy because even at 1-0 down, the team continued in the same way. No panic,” said Maresca.

“This for us is the most important thing.

“The good feeling is that when we were 1-0 down, I can see for the players on the pitch that it doesn’t matter – continue, continue, continue. They can see that continuing that way, something is going to happen.”

Defeat brought an end to Swansea’s four-game winning streak, although boss Duff was pleased with his side’s showing against a side he previously stated would win the Championship title.

“I think we fell the wrong side of big moments in the game,” said Duff.

“But the general performance I was pleased with. I thought the structure of the team looked good, the energy looked good and some of the quality was good.”

Meanwhile, former Manchester City assistant coach Maresca paid tribute to Sir Bobby Charlton who died at the age of 86.

He said: “The only thing I can say, probably if I say great, it’s a small word (to describe Charlton).”
