Robins likes draw of being the Chairman of the bored

- By IAN WINROW REF:

MARK ROBINS admitted he was getting bored with Coventry’s losing streak.

But while the Sky Blues boss was relieved to end a run of four defeats, he was left frustrated at his side’s failings in front of goal.

Robins’ side had a number of chances to clinch all three points but lacked the cutting edge to wrap up the win.

The Coventry manager said: “I’m pleased stopping the rot because it was, you know, getting boring. But it’s frustrating because we should have taken the game away from a really good side.

“There was some decent passages of play, we just got things wrong and the execution on the final pass sometimes or the final touch to finish.

“But we’ll take it. A clean sheet on the back of the goals conceded. We take the point and move on.”

Coventry’s front three Ellis Simms, Matty Godden and Haji Wright each missed good opportunities to get on the scoresheet.

But Stoke held firm to keep a fourth successive clean sheet and head into the international break on the back of an unbeaten five-game run. Potters boss Alex Neil said: “We had some good moments but not really enough to win.

“Four clean sheets on the bounce for us is rare so that’s a good point.

“Belief when you are not losing games is important. And if you don’t do enough to win it then you have to do enough not to lose it.”
