Yannick to Bol-ster Swans after Duff’s men let lead slip

- IAN MITCHELMORE

FORMER Everton and Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie is closing in on a move to Swansea, boss Michael Duff confirmed after his side surrendered a two-goal lead against Hull.

Bolasie, 34, is a free agent after leaving Turkish side Caykur Rizespor in the summer.

Duff said: “Yannick’s been in the building for a week. Hopefully that’ll get done.

“He hasn’t got the pace and power he once had, but it’ll be a two-month deal and we’ll see how it goes from there.”

Bolasie will look to fill the void left by the loss of summer signings Mykola Kuharevich and Josh Ginnelly, who have both been out with long-term injuries.

It comes after the Swans had to settle for a draw with Hull yesterday.

Jamie Paterson and Jerry Yates both struck in the first half for the hosts, although the Tigers claimed a deserved point thanks to goals from Jaden Philogene and Tyler Morton in the second half.

And boss Liam Rosenior said: “To see the character, the team spirit and resilience and the quality the players played with after that (conceding), it gave the players confidence at half-time,” he said.

“That showed in the second-half performance.

“It sums up where we are that we’re 2-0 down away from home and we’re disappointed not to win the game.” SWANSEA: Rushworth 7; Ashby 6 (Darling (10) 6), Cabango 6, Humphreys 7, Tymon 6; Fulton 7, Grimes 7; Paterson 8, Cooper 7 (Key (86) 6), Lowe 6 (Walsh (76) 6); Yates 7 HULL: Allsop 5; Coyle 7, Jones 7, Mcloughlin 5 (Christie (46) 7), Greaves 6; Morton 7, Seri 6; Twine 6, Tufan 5 (Lokilo (46) 7), Philogene 8; Delap 7 (Connolly (86) 6) STAR MAN: Jaden Philogene – Took his goal for Hull beautifully and was a constant thorn in Swansea’s side throughout.
