Ton of fun for Randell as he puts on stunning late show

-

STEVEN SCHUMACHER toasted Adam Randell after he marked his 100th appearance with an injurytime winner for Plymouth.

It looked like the two sides would play out an eighth draw in their last 12 meetings when Mustapha Bundu cancelled out Tyrese Campbell’s opener for Stoke.

But Randell came off the bench to rifle home a 97th-minute clincher as Plymouth racked up a sixth home win of the season. It was Randell’s first goal at Home Park and saw the Pilgrims move above Stoke to 16th in the table.

Plymouth boss Schumacher said: “It’s been a brilliant week for Adam. He should be really proud to get to that milestone and to top it off with the winning goal is great for him.

“Adam is a local lad and will rightfully get all of the headlines.”

Campbell profited from a moment of hesitancy from Lewis Gibson to fire Stoke into a 23rd-minute lead.

Bundu levelled on 43 minutes when he sneaked between Ciaran Clark and Luke Mcnally to convert Kaine Kesler-hayden’s cross. Randell sparked a grandstand finish when he rammed home the rebound after Luke Cundle’s shot was blocked on the line.

Stoke are five games without a win and Potters manager Alex Neil said: “I am not going to hide my frustration, the lads are devastated.” PLYMOUTH: Cooper 7; Kesley-hayden 7 (Butcher (83) 6), Scarr 6, Gibson 6, Galloway 6 (Miller (76) 6); Houghton 6 (Randell (76) 7), Cundle 8, Azaz 7; Mumba 6 (Hardie (68) 6), Whittaker 6 (Wright (82) 6), Bundu 6 STOKE: Bonham 7; Gooch 6, Mcnally 6, Clark 6, Hoever 7; Laurent 6, Pearson 6; Campbell 6 (Lowe (90) 5), Vidigal 6 (Leris (71) 6), Bae 6 (Baker (82) 5); Mmaee 6 STAR MAN: Luke Cundle – The midfielder tackled his heart out and played a key role in late winner.
