Dews beauty

- By Dave Armitage AT THE HAWTHORNS

KIERNAN Dewsbury-hall turned in a match-winning display but still couldn’t completely win over his boss.

And hard to please Foxes gaffer Enzo Maresca says he still wants more from him.

Dewsbury-hall scored Leicester’s opener and then laid it on a plate for Harry Winks to slip home a 94thminute winner.

Maresca got himself in hot water for letting his celebrations get the better of him and collected a booking.

Dewsbury-hall took his season’s goals tally to six, and he has seven assists to go with it, but Maresca wants more.

He said: “Goals-wise he’s where he needs to be but in terms of assists I’m not happy.

“Of course I’m happy with the one he made today even though it was easy.

“I’m pleased because he made the right choice. His decision to pass it was exactly right.

“This was a great win for us because it was a tricky time to play West Brom.

“They had 24 hours more to prepare for the game and they were also in a very good mood because of five wins out of six.”

When Dewsbury-hall nodded in Wilfred Ndidi’s cross in the 72nd minute it looked like being the decider but Albion had other ideas and sub Josh Maja scrambled home an equaliser in the 89th minute.

But Winks came to the rescue a minute from the end of stoppage time, finishing off a superb counter-attack which had started with a West Brom throw deep in the Foxes half.

Winks said: “I don’t normally score but to win right at the end like that was amazing.

“To score in the last minute or so in front of your own fans is just incredible.”

It was a bitter pill for Baggies boss Carlos Corberan who didn’t regret throwing players forward to try and go for the win in the move that led to Leicester’s winner.

He said: “We always try to attack the situation but this time we were made to suffer.

“If I hadn’t told my two central defenders to go up, I’d have regretted that.” WEST BROM: Palmer 6; Furlong 6, Kipre 6, Ajayi 6, Townsend 7; Yokuslu 6 (Chalobah (86) 5), Mowatt 6 (Molumby (75) 5); Phillips 6 (Swift (45) 6), Diangana 6 (Maja (75) 7), Sarmiento 6 (Fellows (75) 5); Thomas-asante 6 LEICESTER: Hermansen 7; Justin 7, Faes 7, Vestergaard 7, Pereira 6; Winks 7, Ndidi 8 (Casadei (87) 5), Dewsbury-hall 8; Mavididi 6 (Fatawu (62) 6), Iheanacho 6, Mcateer 6 STAR MAN: Kiernan Dewsbury-hall – Scored opening goal with a cracking header, then set up last-gasp winner.
