Chris is throwing a party for Marti

- By IAN BAKER

CHRIS WILLOCK scored for the third game running as QPR made it a trio of wins on the bounce under new boss Marti Cifuentes.

The ex-arsenal man is enjoying a new lease of life and so are Rangers since the Spaniard replaced Gareth Ainsworth.

They are now just two points from safety after Cifuentes made it 11 points from six games in charge with Willock also making a clincher for Ilias Chair.

And the QPR manager said: “It was a very good first goal and it showed the quality that Chris has.

“He had been low on confidence but now he is showing that he is a very important player for us.

“I am sure he can score many more goals.

“I am pleased with another victory against a very good team.”

QPR were on it from the off in this one but Chair and Lyndon Dykes both missed the target from Lewie Coyle errors.

At the other end Liam Delap was unfortunate to be denied by a fine Asmir Begovic while Steve Cook bravely blocked Tyler

Morton’s goal-bound effort. But on the stroke of halftime, Willock continued his purple patch with a superb strike, curling home from the edge of the area.

Hull had their moments in the second half with Delap denied again by Begovic who also foiled Scott Twine.

QPR made the game safe on 73 minutes as Ryan Allsop failed to deal with a Jean Michael Seri back pass, Sinclair Armstrong won the ball and Willock crossed for Chair to score.

Defiant Hull boss Liam Rosenior said: “We are still on track for the play-offs.” QPR: Begovic 7; Cannon 6 (Kakay (75) 6), Cook 7, Clarke-salter 7, Paal 7; Field 6, Dozzell 6; Smyth 6 (Armstrong (66) 7), Chair 7 (Dixon-bonner (85) 5), Willock 8 (Kelman 86) 5); Dykes 6 (Larkeche (76) 6) HULL: Allsop 5; Christie 6, Mcloughlin 7, Greaves 7, Coyle 5; Morton 7, Seri 5 (Tufan (76) 5); Traore 5 (Connolly (46) 6), Twine 6 (Vaughan (90) 5), Philogene 6 (Slater (51) 6); Delap 7 (Sellarsfleming (90) 5) STAR MAN: Chris Willock – spectacular first goal and set up the second.
