Edwards’ frustration goes on as his side hit ice Burg
DELANO BURGZORG’S injury-time penalty rescued a precious point for Huddersfield – and left Millwall cursing.
The Lions had looked on course for only their second win under new manager Joe Edwards, after Brooke Norton-cuffy had put them ahead.
But after Jake Cooper gave away a free-kick in the 97th minute, Josh Koroma’s shot hit George Saville’s hand – and
Burgzorg slammed home the subsequent penalty.
Lions manager Joe Edwards said: “It feels like a defeat. It was a game against a team below us in the table and one we really needed to win.
“It’s incredibly frustrating.
Whenever the scoreline is only 1-0 you are in danger. We deserved to win but that is the way it has been going for us lately.”
The result means that Edwards has still won only one of his seven games in charge of the Lions – who now lie, like Huddersfield, only two points ahead of the relegation zone.
Edwards’ side finally broke through when Murray Wallace’s cross was flicked on by Tom Bradshaw.
Nicholls saved and even stopped Arsenal loanee Norton-cuffy’s first effort from the rebound, but could not stop his second going in.
Huddersfield manager Darren Moore said: “I knew Del was going to score. I could see it from his body language.
“We got what we deserved.”
