Ace Ozan makes it Tuf for Cardiff

- By ARINDAM REJ

LIAM ROSENIOR warned that Hull are not a one-man team after his men thrashed Cardiff City – with Ozan Tufan shining.

The Tigers are without danger man Jaden Philogene but were still dominant and moved up to fifth in the Championship.

The Tigers have secured back-to-back victories – in response to successive defeats for the first time since Rosenior became manager a year ago.

Tufan scored the late winner against Middlesbrough on Wednesday night and weaved more magic here.

Rosenior said: “Ozan’s energy, pressing, work-rate, passion and desire were absolutely top.

“We’re never a one-man team. I don’t want to say Jaden is out so Ozan steps up. We’re a team.”

Cardiff’s Turkish manager Erol Bulut reckoned Tufan can get his place back in the Turkey national team after this.

The 12th-placed Welsh team were poor, though, and have suffered five losses in seven.

Aaron Connolly pounced for Hull’s opener after Liam

Delap fizzed in a cross. Scott Twine curled in the second goal from a freekick – the third home game in a row he has scored in.

Tufan added a stunning third, lofting over keeper Jak Alnwick.

Bulut said: “We saw a quality difference between the teams.

“When you want to be in the play-off positions, you have to show much, much more.

“In the past, I said we wanted to get in the playoffs.

“Maybe this makes pressure. Maybe this was too much for some players.” HULL: Allsop 7; Christie 6, Jones 6, Greaves 7, Coyle 7; Morton 7 (Smith 90) 5), Seri 6 (Docherty (67) 6); Delap 7 (Slater (68) 7), Tufan 8 (Sellars-fleming 90), Twine 7; Connolly 8 (Vaughan 81) 6) CARDIFF: Alnwick 6; Ng 6, Goutas 6, Mcguinness 5, Collins 5; Siopis 5 (Sawyers (66) 6), Adams 6; Meite 5 (Etete (66) 7), Colwill 6 (Robinson 76) 6), Grant 6 (Tanner 76) 6); Ugbo 5 (Bowler (46) 7) STAR MAN: Ozan Tufan – Showed drive and skill and netted a high-class goal.
