Owls on a Rohl as Musaba’s late show helps sink rivals

-

DANNY ROHL hailed his “fantastic” side after a late double secured a crucial victory against relegation rivals QPR.

After scoring the winner at Stoke, Anthony Musaba was at it again as he struck in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Sheffield Wednesday have now won three of their last four games.

They found themselves behind when Bambo Diaby deflected Ilias Chair’s shot past his own goalkeeper in the 37th minute.

But the Owls kept scrapping away and saw Will Vaulks’ effort, direct from a corner, ruled out for a foul on keeper Asmir Begovic.

They did finally level things up when Bailey Cadamarteri fired home in the 86th minute – his third goal in four outings.

German Rohl has helped revive the Owls since taking over and he celebrated with joyous fans at the end after Musaba’s late strike.

He said: “I’m so proud of everyone. We feel our fans behind us. I do everything to help this club and my players. If we have this spirit, it’s great.

“We know the potential

Musaba and Cadamarteri have but my team’s desire to go and fight and win that game was fantastic.”

QPR boss Marti Cifuentes said: “This is a bad one. We had a great chance to score and make sure.

“That last 10 minutes was just not good enough. We should have controlled that situation better and had a better grab on the game.”
