IF Jordan James fancies a move to Italy then this is the way to get it done.

The Wales wonderboy stepped off the bench to salvage a point for Tony Mowbray’s first match in change of Birmingham.

James, a target for Atalanta, aimed low and true in the fifth minute of added time and from 25 yards out.

The relief which went round St Andrew’s echoed in Mowbray’s head.

The replacement for sacked Wayne Rooney said: “It was important we did not lose otherwise the players might have thought, ‘Same old.’

“We could have scored five with the chances we had. I feel frustrated that we didn’t win this game but I have only been on the training pitch for three days.

“I can see what needs to be fixed but I’m happy we didn’t lose. I hope the supporters saw a team giving everything to win a football match.”

Birmingham have rejected a £4million bid for James and Mowbray has said he would prefer to keep the youngster.

Mowbray added: “The kid wants to play. I wouldn’t rule anything off the table but I want players who can break the lines and he can do that.” James’ magic touch made the difference as the Blues twice came from behind.

Siriki Dembele cancelled out Harry Darling’s header before James did the same to a clever flicked goal from Jamal Lowe.

Swansea also have a new manager and there were mixed emotions from Luke Williams.

He said: “It’s disappointing because there was such little time left. But if you take the game overall then Birmingham deserve a point that’s for sure.

“We did enough in terms of creating chances. We made the classic mistake of trying to defend the lead, we should attack more when we go in front.”
