Fans to Kop view of Klopp’s last days in TV show

- BY PHIL CARDY & PATRICK HILL

JURGEN Klopp’s Liverpool FC swansong is set to feature in a TV documentary – which with luck could end with him clinching another Premier League title.

We can reveal cameras will be granted behind-the-scenes access at Anfield and the club’s Melwood training ground to capture the drama of the much-loved German manager’s final months.

The show is sure to be a hit with the club’s worldwide fanbase and could even chronicle the Reds’ scramble to find a successor. A source said: “Jurgen has vetoed fly-on-the-wall-type documentaries in the past but he was OK with this.”

Liverpool previously featured in 2012 documentary series Being: Liverpool, when Brendan Rodgers was in charge.

It was widely panned and the club did not appear in the subsequent All Or Nothing programmes, which chronicled dressing room spats at rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City. Sparking shock on Friday when he revealed he will quit after this season, Klopp said: “I am, how can I say it, running out of energy.”

Friends are now urging the 56-year-old to rest after nine years at Anfield. He is expected to spend more time at his mansion in Majorca, bought in 2022.

His former youth coach and family friend, Ulrich Rath, told us: “I think he’s looking to recover and recharge his batteries. And I think he needs that, too.”

Jens Haas, a childhood pal in Klopp’s home village of Glatten, said: “He was very attached to the area. I think it would be a possibility to come here now.”

Tributes continued to pour in yesterday, with ex-reds striker Robbie Fowler calling for the club’s iconic Kop stand to be renamed The Klopp for the manager’s final home game.

Since joining in 2015, Klopp has won six top trophies, including the Champions League and Premier League. He got the freedom of Liverpool in 2022.
