MATT TAYLOR hailed a first clean sheet since his arrival as Bristol Rovers manager.

On-loan Nottingham Forest midfielder Brandon Aguilera marked his Rovers debut with the only goal of the game from 20 yards.

Taylor said: “That is the first clean sheet since I have been at the club and I have been begging for that as I know how important they are as we’ll create chances.”

Gary Caldwell added: “We will regroup and go again on Tuesday night.”

Leyton Orient 3 Carlisle 2

PAUL SIMPSON admits Carlisle are in serious trouble after defeat left them 10 points adrift of safety.

Josh Vela put them ahead but two goals from Shaq Forde and another from Ruel Sotiriou turned it around before Sean Maguire’s late penalty.

Simpson said: “This was always going to be a tough game but the truth of it is we’re in serious trouble.”

Peterborou­gh 2 Wigan 3

SHAUN MALONEY saluted his side after they completed the double over promotionc­hasing Peterborou­gh.

Thelo Aasgaard (2) and Josh Magennis had them in control before Matt Smith was sent off and Posh rallied through Josh Knight and Ricky-jade Jones.

Maloney said: “It was a brilliant team performanc­e and a huge win for us.”

Posh boss Darren Ferguson said: “Not being ruthless in front of goal has caught up with us today.”

NEIL HARRIS praised his side’s mentality after they recorded just their second win on the road all season.

Lyle Taylor bagged a brace after Dan Udoh had put Shrewsbury ahead.

Harris said: “We showed the character and composure in the key moments to score the goals we did.”

Shrews boss Paul Hurst said: “I am frustrated after getting off to a good start as well.”

MICHAEL SKUBALA was proud as 10-man Lincoln battled to beat Burton.

Alex Mitchell was sent off in the 29th minute but Reeco Hackett scored a second-half winner.

The Lincoln boss said: “I am so proud of every single player, to play so long with 10 men and still go after the game.”

Burton boss Martin Paterson said: “No excuses. Everything was off.”

Cheltenham 1 Wycombe 3

MATT BLOOMFIELD received the perfect tonic after his illness-affected week.

Jack Grimmer, Garath Mccleary and a Curtis Davies own-goal gave Wycombe a first away win since October 7.

“I had a flu-like bug that had me in bed for 36 hours,” Wycombe boss Bloomfield said. “It’s been a long week, but I’m really proud of the players. Their applicatio­n was brilliant.”

CHARLIE ADAM felt his first win as Fleetwood boss had been coming.

Goals from Jayden Stockley, Ronan Coughlan and Ryan Broom lifted them off the bottom.

“Performanc­es have been coming, slowly but surely,” he said. “It’s a great lift for the football club and the whole town.”

Andy Crosby added: “We got outfought, we got out-battled and we got outplayed.”

DES Buckingham says returning players will help Oxford’s promotion push.

JOHN MOUSINHO felt his Portsmouth side ‘meant business’.

Paddy Lane scored twice and Connor Ogilvie and Callum Lang also netted while Colby Bishop missed a penalty for the leaders, who had debutant Tom Mcintyre sent off.

Mousinho said: “I am delighted with the performanc­e and what we did in the first hour. We came out showing we meant business.”

MANAGER Steve Evans dedicated Stevenage’s win to teenage supporter Ollie Gatfield in the club’s first home game since his death.

Gatfield, 19, was killed in a car crash on the way home from the win at Shrewsbury three weeks ago. His friend Liam Sharpe is in a coma.

Evans said: “That’s for Ollie and for Liam – come on, Liam, fight that battle, son.”

Jake Forster-caskey’s late deflected effort clinched victory in a scrappy contest with Blackpool.
