Robins convinced time is right for Haji to come alive

-

MARK ROBINS has warned Millwall that Haji Wright is ready to explode.

The big American striker has bagged nine goals this season but is now “starting to come out of himself”.

Wright, 25, has extensive experience having played in Germany, Holland and Turkey from where he was signed last summer from Antalyaspor for a club record £7.5million.

He netted in the midweek FA Cup win over Sheffield

Wednesday as the Sky Blues’ campaign continues to gather pace.

Manager Robins said: “Haji’s got a brilliant relationship with everyone – a nice character.

“Milan van Ewijk has helped him, he’s an extrovert, and now Haji is starting to come out of himself. You can see that with the celebration of his goals how popular he is.

“And he’s improving. He believes in himself more and more.

“There are times when you are waiting for him to explode. Sometimes he can take a little bit of time to see an opportunity.

“When he does it instinctively, he’s very good.

“He’s getting better and better.” However, Robins has warned that while Coventry – who are unbeaten in 10 across all competitions at the Coventry Building Society Arena – won 3-0 at Millwall, he is expecting an improved Lions side this lunchtime.

He said: “We had a good win down there. It was Joe Edwards’ second game after Sheffield Wednesday where they won 4-0. We managed to edge it. We were clinical.

“They are an aggressive side, big with quality in it. They’ve added players who will make them stronger.

“It’s going to be physical. They are different under Joe to Gary Rowett but are equally determined.”
