Rosenior praises late show after tough Terriers bit back

- REF:

HULL boss Liam Rosenior hailed the way his side bounced back after Huddersfield’s added-time equaliser to dig out a win.

It looked like Jack Rudoni’s 92nd-minute strike had rescued a late point for the Terriers before Jacob Greaves stole across the defence to head home.

It topped a fine performance by the central defender who marked his 200th career appearance by putting Hull ahead when he hooked home from a corner.

Jaden Philogene can breathe a sigh of relief as Huddersfield equalised just after he missed the chance to seal the points, hitting the post when put clear.

It was Hull’s third straight away win and they remain eighth, outside the play-offs on goal difference.

Rosenior said: “I am so proud because you have to find different ways to win in the Championship.

“Sometimes we’ve played way better than that and come out with a point or come out with a loss.

“There’s a real belief and togetherness in that dressing room and I’m delighted we came out with the three points that we absolutely fought for.” Defeat marked Jon Worthington’s final match as Terriers’ caretaker boss before Andre Breitenreiter takes over.

But defeat leaves them fifth-bottom – and Worthington said: “That’s the Championship. The highs and lows, that’s why you can’t switch off.” HUDDERSFIELD: Nicholls 6; Pearson 6, Balker 6, Lees 6, Spencer 6; Hogg 6 (Ward (76) 6), Matos 6 (Diarra (56) 6); Rudoni 7, Wiles 7 (Kasumu (55) 6), Thomas 8; Koroma 6 (Burgzorg (56) 7) HULL: Allsop 7; Slater 7, Jones 7, Greaves 8, Giles 7; Morton 6 (Jacob (32) 6) Carvalho 7 (Docherty (63) 6); Philogene 6, Tufan 7 (Coyle (76) 6), Zaroury 7 (Omur (62) 6); Sharp 6 (Ohio (45) 6) STAR MAN: Jacob Greaves – Scored both Tigers goals including winner, to top a fine defensive performance.
