Muniz ball!

ROCKING RODRIGO GIVES SILVA SERVICE

- By Neil Mcleman AT CRAVEN COTTAGE REF:

RODRIGO MUNIZ kept on scoring at the Cottage as Fulham mocked another top Premier League team.

Marco Silva’s side won at Old Trafford for the first time in 21 years last weekend and then posted a clip on Tiktok taking the mick out of Bruno Fernandes.

And goals from Harry Wilson, Muniz and sub Adama Traore humiliated Brighton yesterday to maintain Fulham’s record of never losing to the Albion in the Premier League.

And Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi held his head in his hands towards the end as his inconsistent side suffered a horrible defeat.

After winning five of their opening six league matches this season, Brighton have won only five of the last 21 and they slip down to ninth.

Fulham are now only four points behind them after Muniz netted his fifth goal in five games to give Silva’s vibrant side backto-back league matches for just the second time this season.

The Portuguese head coach had sent out the same side which won at Manchester United despite the return to fitness of Willian.

And the hosts took the lead after 21 minutes when Muniz fought off Adam Webster to win Calvin Bassey’s long ball. Wilson picked up possession and cut inside to curl a left-foot shot into the far corner.

Muniz had scored Fulham’s previous three Premier League goals at Craven Cottage and Wilson’s strike denied him becoming the first man since Louis Saha in 2003 to score four consecutive top-flight home goals for Fulham. But that was not to stop the Brazilian finding the net again. Again Brighton’s defending was slack as Wilson had time to cross and Muniz headed home.

De Zerbi brought on Ansu Fati and Simon Adingra at the break and then Pascal Gross and Facundo Buonanotte just before the hour.

Brighton got better with Evan Ferguson released twice through on goal but he missed and then saw his shot blocked by Bernd Leno. Sub Buonanotte later hit the post.

But Andreas Pereira, Muniz and Wilson all failed to take chances to kill off the game until two subs combined in the first minute of injury time.

Bobby De Cordova-reid robbed Gross and released Adama Traore to score. FULHAM: Leno 7; Castagne 6, Adarabioyo 6, Bassey 7, Robinson 6; Reed 7, Lukic 6 (De Cordova-reid (88) 6); Wilson 8 (Traore (84) 7), Pereira 7 (Cairney (69) 5), Iwobi 7 (Willian (69) 6); Muniz 8 (Broja (84) 5) BRIGHTON: Steele 6; Veltman 7, Dunk 5 (Gross (59) 6), Webster 6; Lamptey 5 (Adingra (46) 5), Baleba 5 (Moder (77) 5), Van Hecke 6, Estupinan 5; Lallana 6 (Buonanotte (59) 6), Ferguson 6, Enciso 5 (Fati (46) 6) STAR MAN: Rodrigo Muniz – Another goal and his physical presence troubled Brighton.
