Strictly’s Nikita Kuzmin has risked the ire of BBC bosses, who are said to be less than thrilled by him joining Celebrity Big Brother despite apparently giving it the go-ahead. The pro dancer, a runner-up last year with Layton Williams, took the ITV gig after being offered more than triple his Strictly fee. Insiders say many of his fellow pro dancers are watching with interest to see if he keeps his place on the show. One says: “Nikita is getting paid more for a few weeks in the CBB house than he does for an entire series of Strictly – which is 12 hours a day of work, six days a week. But to say

Strictly aren’t pleased about him signing up is an understatement.” The source adds: “There wasn’t much they could do to stop him, given that dancers are contracted for each series rather than being on a rolling contract. “Of course, they could decide not to book him for this year’s show. “If they do decide to book him, that could open the floodgates for other dancers to take on gigs away from the BBC.” Nikita, who joined Strictly in 2021, made the final with West End star Layton last year before losing out to Vito Coppola and Ellie Leach. Bets are off on him being back on the dance floor come September…
