Kamara’s a big fan of life in the ‘crazy’ Championship

- SHEFF WEDS Played Friday By ROSS HEPPENSTALL

GLEN KAMARA helped rampant Leeds to an 11th win from 12 games at Sheffield Wednesday and then declared: “The Championship is crazy!”

Goals from Patrick Bamford – his eighth in 13 matches – and Willy Gnonto saw them march to a 2-0 victory at Hillsborough on Friday night.

And belief is growing at Elland Road that Daniel Farke’s in-form Whites can clinch an instant return to the Premier League by winning automatic promotion.

Influential midfielder Kamara, who arrived from Rangers last summer, said: “I’d never played in the Championship before I signed for Leeds.

“It’s a crazy league and it’s a strange one because I can’t really put my finger on it, but it’s been really good and I’m enjoying it.

“The Leeds fans have been great and so have the team, so it’s been good.

“These kind of long unbeaten runs don’t come around very often for any team, so we just need to keep it up. Hopefully we can do that.”

Leeds made their class pay against the Owls to maintain their push for a top-two finish.

Kamara, 28, added: “It was a tough game and we’re just delighted with the three points.

“It was very tough in the first half and Sheffield Wednesday work hard and fight for first and second balls.

“But the first goal settled us down and we got over the line. It was another massive win for us.”

Daniel Farke’s side are next in action when Millwall visit Elland Road next Sunday.

Leeds’ German boss will give his troops some time off between now and then. Kamara said: “We’ll have a few days off so I’ll just chill and see friends and family.”
