STARS GEARING UP FOR FESTIVAL

IRISH country music sensation Nathan Carter is the headline act for a fantastic music festival on the grounds of Loftus Hall on the Hook Peninsula this Sunday, August 28. The all day concert takes place in one of the region’s most stunning venues, located on the Hook Peninsula in beautiful walled gardens. With free buses running from different locations in the Wexford and New Ross districts, this is a hassle free, brilliant day out for everyone. The family themed day-long music event is being run in aid of the Fethard RNLI fundraisin­g appeal, which is set to raise €65,000 for a new inshore lifeboat, due to be placed on service in Fethard at the end of 2017. Performing alongside Nathan Carter will be Wexford group Corner Boy, popular boy band Home Town and Wexford’s own Elmore. One lucky artist from the south east will perform live and kick off the festival on Sunday. Momentum Events have joint forces with the Fethard RNLI fundraisin­g team and will create a dedicated family kids area within one of the walled gardens. This will allow a secure play area for the full family to enjoy. There will be arts and crafts, a bouncy castle from noon until 6 p.m., face painting, balloon making with children’s entertaine­r, Oddsocks from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., magic tricks, puppets, a kids’ party club, also from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., an appearance by Minnie and Mickey Mouse at 1 p.m., jump in muddy puddles with Peppa Pig at 2 p.m., ‘Boyz Zone’ with mischievou­s Karl the Minion at 3 p.m. and children can sing Let It Go from Frozen at 4 p.m. Six piece Irish boy band HomeTown will perform. The group, which was formed and managed by Louis Walsh, are signed to RCA Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainm­ent UK. The vocal group are made up of singers from the four corners of Ireland. HomeTown consists of; Cian Morrin, Dayl Cronin, Dean Gibbons, Josh Gray, Ryan McLoughlin and Brendan Murray. The band opened for Olly Murs in Ireland in April 2015 and have supported The Vamps throughout the UK and Ireland. Having just signed a huge deal in Japan these Boys are truly the one to watch. Performing alongside Nathan Carter and HomeTown will be Trevor Smith Friends in Low Places – The Ultimate Garth Brooks Experience, home-grown group Corner Boy and new to the Irish music scene, Elmore. Fethard RNLI have received a major boost for their inshore lifeboat appeal after receiving a €12,000 donation from local business, Loftus Hall. Proprietor of Loftus Hall, Aidan Quigley said: ‘Loftus Hall is delighted to support the RNLI and offer our unique and unusual venue for the event.’ Fethard RNLI Volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer, Rebecca Doyle said: ‘ The Waves music festival is the first music festival the RNLI have undertaken in the south east.
