Tullogher/ Rosbercon

LATE PADDY MALONE

The death occurred last week of Paddy Malone, Ballygriffin, Kilmacow and formerly of Cooleen Tullogher. His funeral took place from Doyle’s Funeral Home the Old Rectory, Rosbercon, on Sunday evening to St Aidan’s Church Tullogher and burial took place in Mullinarrigle cemetery after Requiem Mass on Monday, October 3. Sincere sympathy goes to his nieces, nephews and the extended family in their sad bereavement.

MACRA MEMBERS

Mullinavat Macra which serves all of South Kilkenny are holding a meeting in the Rod Iron Pub on Thursday night, October 6. It will commence at 9 p.m. and all are welcome especially those who would like to become new members.

THE SHIELD FINAL

It was the local derby when Tullogher/Rosbercon and Glenmore clashed at Thomastown last Sunday in the Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling League Final. Glenmore were by far the superior team and emerged victorious by a margin of 11 points, 1-24 to 2-10.

VACANT POSTS

There are two vacant posts available on the Rosbercon CE Scheme. Up for grabs are a position of GAA Club Groundsman/ Caretaker and another of Office Administrator. CHURCH CHOIR

The St David’s Church Mullinarrigle Church Choir have resumed practice and will be performing at the Sunday Mass. New members are very welcome to come along and join the choir in the singing of the hymns which greatly enhance the Mass and make the celebration more enjoyable for everyone.

BINGO UPDATE

The Parish Bingo is now attracting big crowds with a weekly pay out of €1,200. Also on offer is the lotto jackpot which now stands at €975. The bingo gets under way each Wednesday night in the Parish Hall (at Albatros) at 8.30 p.m.
