Five arrests for drunken driving

FIVE people were arrested for drunken driving in the New Ross district over the past week.

A garda spokesperson said gardaí are manning checkpoints across the district at various times throughout the day, adding that drivers still aren’t getting the message about the dangers of drinking and driving.
